The sixth season of the adventures of two middle-aged ladies is now available on Netflix. The adventures of two friends with opposite personalities have been making viewers laugh for six years. Don’t you know this production yet? Be sure to catch up!

Why watch Grace and Frankie?

Surprising themes

The series is not afraid to break taboos. But it does so in a very clever, unobtrusive way

In the pilot of the series Grace and Frankie we meet two married couples who are friends with each other: Grace and Robert and Frankie and Sol. It won’t be a spoiler if we reveal that early on in the first episode, Grace and Frankie’s husbands announce to them that they have been in love with each other for years. The women’s journey to find stability after these revelations is basically the entire plot of the series

The homosexual storyline is quite daring and unusual, to say the least, given that we’re not dealing with young boys or teenagers, as is usually the case. We are talking about two mature men, both in long-term relationships with women. Since the main characters have already passed their prime, the series inevitably also deals with the subject of old age

Although this is a comedy and the illnesses and difficulties associated with the elderly female characters are usually played up as gags, it’s still a topic that rarely makes it into the media.

The genius of comedy

In this day and age, it’s hard to find comedy that makes us laugh and laugh rather than embarrassed. Low quality jokes and weak gags have made the level of comedy in both cinema and TV series drop significantly

However,Grace and Frankie is not a dumb comedy, telling the same weak jokes over and over again. Some situations and gags in the series can make even very demanding viewers laugh to tears. Marta Kauffman, the same Marta Kauffman who wrote the cult TV series Friends for 10 years, is surely responsible for that. Since one of the writers of the series is the screenwriter of a work that has entertained the entire world for over twenty years, Grace and Frankie was doomed to success.

Not just laughs

It is worth mentioning that the series is not just a funny comedy. It can also move the audience to tears. Threads presented in Grace and Frankie more than once grab the heart and squeeze tears

Scenes of arguments and reconciliations, moving confessions and difficult themes are present in the series from the very beginning. It’s important for any work of filmmaking to run an emotionally diverse storyline. Grace and Frankie does this in an absolutely phenomenal way. The family themes and relationships between the characters present in the series are a frequent cause for emotion. The picture fantastically depicts real and not idealized situations and difficulties that every family has to face

The series Grace and Frankie is a great comedy with a very skillful humor that reaches the audience. Thanks to the genius of Marta Kauffman and Howard J. Morris, it has been a huge success not only in the United States but all over the world. Netflix perfectly promoted the bold and unconventional picture, thanks to which even followers of more serious productions could hear about it.

If you don’t know the series Grace and Frankie yet, be sure to catch up! We assure you that you won’t regret it!
