Superfoods, or literally translated superfoods – are products characterized by a high content of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. They have a wide range of applications – find out what they are!
Thanks to superfoods the body has a chance to become a strong armour which will not be afraid of any perturbations. Why? Because these are natural and unprocessed products that provide us with essential vitamins, amino acids, they are good in prevention, but also support the body in the fight against various diseases. These are fruits, vegetables, herbs – we can eat them, but also use cosmetics based on them
Superfoods are organic food originating from natural cultivation, not supported by any chemicals. It should be used primarily by people who want to improve their research results, strengthen immunity or simply want to start eating healthily.
And what specific products can be called superfoods? These include: flaxseed, spices such as garlic, onion, basil, chia seeds or acai berries, but also herbs: purgative and oils, such as flaxseed.
As you can see, these products are diverse, they come from many corners of the world, but their health properties are invaluable, they also create great room for maneuver in the kitchen. Their use depends, of course, on the properties of the product. Take, for example, the popular in Poland flaxseed. This product is recommended by nutritionists and gastrologists. We can add it in the form of grains e.g. to the morning oatmeal, or prepare the so-called kisiel from its seeds. Such pulp “cakes” our digestive tract, thanks to which, according to specialists, it alleviates such symptoms as gastric reflux or heartburn. Linseed gruel also prevents diarrhea and constipation
Flax seeds have similar properties to linseed, which are also a valuable source of dietary fiber. On the other hand, chasteberry is a herb containing polyphenols, which have antioxidant properties. Its regular drinking helps in the fight against inflammatory conditions of the body, but also those of the skin. Regular drinking of purge is a chance to eliminate minor acne lesions on the skin.
The vegetable cabbage variety, kale, is also a popular superfood. This is a great vegetable, especially recommended for smoothies. It contains glucosinolates, which play an important role in lowering cancer risk. It is also a great source of B vitamins, vitamin C, calcium and potassium.
Since we feed our body with superfoods, we may as well feed our skin with them. Preparations with extracts from natural herbs and vitamins from organic fruit or vegetables will give tired complexion firmness, smoothness and deeply nourish it. What superfoods are worth paying attention to when choosing cosmetics for daily care? Pumpkin – is a vegetable with many health properties and beneficial to the condition of our skin. Enzymes and antioxidants contained in pumpkin will add glow to the complexion and, above all, regenerate it. The extract from this superfood contained in cosmetics copes well with various skin imperfections. What are they? For example, it tightens enlarged pores and normalizes the work of sebaceous glands. It is especially recommended for people with oily, acne-prone and polluted skin
Popular are also oils from chia seeds or wild rose, which, among others, smooth fine wrinkles, soothe and regenerate the skin or prevent stretch marks.
Consumers are increasingly aware, so it is not surprising that the trend for superfoods is gaining momentum, because people are not only paying attention to what is on their plates, but also carefully read the composition of cosmetics they use.
